A Pitiful Attempt

Who could have imagined
that you were so desperate
for attention
that you would go on
to create bizarre,
negative,
and totally unnecessary
drama
in order to feel as if
you were the center
of whatever love-starved
universe
you were wishing to be in.
The only problem
was that
the attention you generated
was perhaps
the most unhealthy
and unfulfilling kind of energy
that it always left you
in tatters.
And you wonder
why you are in so much pain.
