I was the one.
The one
who never gave up on you.
The one
who had been there
each
and every time
you felt the world
was too much to bear,
too much
to carry on your shoulders.
The one
who dared raised his sword
against the world
in your name,
even when you
could no longer find it in yourself
to fight.
But no longer.
I have had to live
through too many nights
alone
when you promised support,
too many days
wasted
in needless silence.
So now,
I will be the one
to walk away,
and you
will be the one
to know
just how much I meant
to you.
